cloud platforms

Release software faster without losing control.

We automate how your software is built, tested and deployed, and give your teams a reliable platform to run it on. The result is faster delivery with fewer failed releases and less manual effort.

Overview

DevOps & Platform Engineering

DevOps & Platform Engineering helps organizations deliver software faster and more reliably by automating how applications are built, tested, deployed and monitored.

We assess your current delivery process, then build automated pipelines, consistent environments and, where it adds value, an internal platform that gives teams self-service access to approved tools and infrastructure. Security checks and observability are built into the process rather than added at the end.

The result is a repeatable delivery process that your teams own, understand and can continue to improve.

Who this is for

  • Engineering leaders whose release cycles are slowed by manual steps and approvals
  • Organizations running several development teams with inconsistent tools and practices
  • Teams adopting containers and Kubernetes without a standard platform to support them
  • Businesses that need clear visibility into application health and incidents

What gets in the way

Challenges this service addresses

  • Slow, manual releases

Builds, tests and deployments depend on manual steps, so releases are infrequent, stressful and difficult to repeat.

  • Inconsistent environments

Development, test and production environments drift apart, causing defects that only appear after deployment.

  • Tool and practice sprawl

Each team builds its own pipelines and tooling, which increases maintenance effort and makes standards hard to enforce.

  • Limited production visibility

Without consistent logs, metrics and alerts, teams learn about incidents from users and take too long to find the cause.

  • Security added too late

Security checks happen at the end of the release cycle, delaying releases or letting vulnerabilities reach production.

What we do

Capabilities

Each capability can be scoped on its own or combined into a larger programme of work.

Capability 01

DevOps Assessment & Roadmap

Review your current delivery process, tooling and team practices, and define a prioritized improvement roadmap.

  • Delivery process review
  • Toolchain assessment
  • Delivery metrics baseline
  • Improvement roadmap

Capability 02

CI/CD Pipeline Automation

Build automated pipelines that compile, test and deploy applications consistently across every environment.

  • Build and test automation
  • Deployment automation
  • Release strategies
  • Reusable pipeline templates

Capability 03

Infrastructure & Environment Automation

Provision and manage application environments as code so they are consistent, repeatable and easy to recreate.

  • Infrastructure as code modules
  • Environment provisioning
  • Configuration management
  • GitOps workflows

Capability 04

Container & Internal Developer Platforms

Design and build Kubernetes platforms and self-service tooling that let teams deploy without managing infrastructure details.

  • Kubernetes platform design
  • Self-service developer portal
  • Standard service templates
  • Platform guardrails

Capability 05

Observability & Reliability Engineering

Implement monitoring, logging and alerting, and introduce reliability practices that reduce incidents and recovery time.

  • Metrics, logs and tracing
  • Alerting and dashboards
  • Service level objectives
  • Incident response practices

What changes

Business outcomes

  • More frequent, predictable software releases
  • Fewer failed deployments and faster recovery
  • Consistent standards across development teams
  • Developers spending more time on product work
  • Earlier detection of security and quality issues

How we work

Our approach

  1. 1 Assess Map your delivery process, tooling and pain points, and baseline key delivery metrics.
  2. 2 Design Define the target pipelines, platform architecture and standards, starting with one pilot team.
  3. 3 Build Implement pipelines, environments and platform components as code, with your engineers involved.
  4. 4 Test Validate with the pilot team, measure the improvement and refine before wider rollout.
  5. 5 Launch Roll out to further teams with templates, documentation and training, then hand over the platform.

Why Hinkor

How we back that up

  • Pilot before scale

We prove improvements with one team and measured results before rolling changes out across your organization.

  • Everything delivered as code

Pipelines, environments and platform configuration are version-controlled, so your team owns and can change everything we build.

  • Tool-neutral approach

We build on the tools you already use where they work, and recommend changes only where there is a clear benefit.

  • Built for your team to run

Every engagement includes documentation and hands-on enablement, so your engineers can operate and extend the platform.

DevOps Maturity Assessment

Review your delivery process, tooling and metrics, and receive a prioritized improvement roadmap.

CI/CD Pilot

Automate the build, test and deployment pipeline for one application to prove the approach.

FAQ

Questions about DevOps & Platform Engineering

If your question is not here, ask it directly.

Ask a direct question
What is the difference between DevOps and platform engineering?

DevOps is the set of practices and automation that connect development and operations. Platform engineering builds a shared internal platform so every team can use those practices through self-service, without each team building its own tooling.

Do we need to replace our current tools?

Usually not. We assess your current toolchain and build on what works. We recommend changes only where a tool limits automation, security or scale, and we plan any migration so delivery is not interrupted.

How is this different from Quality Engineering & Testing?

DevOps & Platform Engineering builds the pipelines that build and deploy software. Quality Engineering & Testing designs the tests that run in those pipelines and decides what must pass before a release.

How is this different from Cloud Migration & Modernization?

Cloud Migration & Modernization moves workloads to the cloud and builds the landing zone. DevOps & Platform Engineering automates how applications are built, deployed and observed on that foundation. Many programs need both, and we plan them together.

Who operates the platform after delivery?

Each engagement includes documentation, runbooks and enablement for your team. You can operate the platform yourself, retain Hinkor for ongoing improvement, or move to our Managed Cloud & Infrastructure service.
